I finally decided to follow my heart at age 51. This decision came right after I accepted Jesus Christ as my Lord and Savior so no coincidence there! My background has been and remains Holistic Health. In fact, yours truly embarked upon her PhD journey in Holistic Lifestyle Medicine this year. After countless mentors, teachers, incredible holistic career opportunities, AND with the healing of my own suicidal depression tendencies and Auto-Immune Disease, I affirm that the body was designed by God to heal itself AND that Christ Jesus gave us the authority to do this. God has made my mission very clear: To help humans and their animals heal from the intelligence within without drugs and vaccines.
And what about dear, Poppy, you may be asking? Well, she is very much a co-creator with this mission. Her beautiful and wounded heart mirrored my own when we first met in Greenville on July 4th, 2025. She was going to be a foster as I was working with a Dachshund Rescue Organization at the time BUT as soon as I saw her, I knew immediately that it would be a foster fail! She had my heart as soon as I looked into her beautiful soulful eyes…
This darling, sensitive, sweet, intelligent, empathetic, fierce, comical and slightly high strung and insecure little creature has captured my heart. And, friends, the words I have used to describe Poppy very much describe me now or at certain points in my life. Unsurprising, right?! As dogs truly are our mirror.
Having lost my previous Dachshund angel Lily, a senior rescue to pancreatitis, I vowed that I would NEVER ever use conventional medicine or diet to support my next animal/companions health. What became abundantly clear with Lily is that her first 12 years of life were riddled with drugs and vaccines that were ultimately robbing her of her highest heath. And while I could control the last few years of her life with holistic lifestyle choices, that just wasn’t enough to mitigate all of the previous damage done to her by the ‘treat the symptom’ model with drugs as well as the ‘immunity is only enhanced by vaccine’ model. Two ways of living that feel completely out of alignment with truth for me!
Once Poppy came into my life, I started doing all I could to bring her back into a state of balance through holistic means only. A raw diet, no drugs or vaccines, living in tune with nature as much as possible, emotional wellness, etc. In fact, her healing journey has very much mimicked my own just as God intended.
So here we are, a human, and her most precious animal companion on a mission to educate others that this kind of Holistic Lifestyle IS possible and IS the answer to vibrant health and immunity.
ALL proceeds from TheDarlingDachshund.com will go to buying land, a home, and out buildings to ultimately create a Holistic Educational Center AND a Senior Dog Rescue.
